About Jo McGregor

Jo McGregor

Born into an oil family, Jo McGregor was brought up in a thoroughly international environment, including family postings to Japan and Indonesia. She started her oil career with Enterprise Oil in Aberdeen in the early nineties as a secretary in the busy drilling department – “an ideal environment” in which to learn the business at first hand.

After several years with Enterprise, Jo travelled to Norway where she spent three years in Stavanger. On her return she joined the highly successful Aberdeen-based well construction specialists The Peak Group. Jo worked with Peak Consultancy Services, recruiting and placing experienced oil professionals throughout the worldwide oil and gas industry before progressing to Business Development in the Well Management department leaving in the summer of 2006.

About Angie McGregor

Angie McGregor

Angie McGregor worked with Jo at the Peak Group for eight and a half years, gaining comprehensive experience in a diversity of administrative roles whilst working within their consultancy and finance departments. Prior to joining Peak, Angie worked in the Royal Navy as a weapons analyst, analysing weapon system performance on submarines at both Portsmouth and Faslane naval bases.

Angie’s family background is also in oil, and for a time lived in Malta. She has held a number of administrative posts in various industry sectors including charity and social work.

Angie’s primary role at McGregors will be an administrative and financial one and she will be the point of contact for any invoicing and contractual queries.

About the McGregors

The McGregor name is one of Scotland's oldest, with ancient royal connections going back to 966 AD – hence the proud clan motto, “Royal is my Race” (click here to visit the Clan McGregor website). Although the name is currently distinguished by one of the most famous living Scots, actor Ewan McGregor, the clan has, along the way, had some serious brushes with authority.

In 1603, the Scottish Privy Council even abolished the name entirely, with the aim of exterminating the clan. This sad situation continued off and on for nearly two centuries, with many of the clan adopting the alternative surname “Ross”. Notorious rebels like Rob Roy McGregor did little to help the cause, but the name was finally reinstated in 1775.

Today, as Jo and Angie McGregor are happy to confirm, the McGregor are 100% legit once more!
